Privacy policy
Last updated May 6, 2026. This page explains what the site may collect and why. The goal is simple: collect what is needed to run the tracker and avoid collecting what is not needed.
Information you provide
If you sign in, we may store basic account information from the sign-in provider, such as your name, email address, profile image, account id, and session information.
If you submit reports or reviews, we store the product details, size and price information, store or location details, comments, confirmations, disputes, votes, photos, and related metadata that you provide.
Location information
Reports can include store, city, region, country, address, and coordinates for the reported product observation. If you use a nearby proof queue, approximate browser location may be used to sort claims near you. Your exact personal location is not meant to be saved as a user profile field.
Photos
Photos you upload may be stored so other contributors can review evidence. Avoid uploading images that include private personal information, faces, payment cards, receipts with sensitive details, or anything unrelated to the product evidence.
Payments
Stripe handles donation checkout. Shrinkflation does not need to see or store your full card number.
Service logs
The app and hosting provider may keep technical logs such as request times, errors, IP-related security signals, browser information, and API activity. These logs help run the site, debug issues, prevent abuse, and keep the service available.
Public activity
Reports, comments, confirmations, disputes, contributor names, and trust-related signals may appear publicly or to signed-in users. Do not submit anything you want to keep private.
Removing content
Some public evidence may need to remain visible so claim history and community review stay understandable. We may remove, anonymize, or hide content when needed for privacy, safety, moderation, or legal reasons.
